When you’re in charge of a commercial real estate portfolio worth more than $2 billion, it helps to have a good sense of humor — and a good playlist. Comic relief with his colleagues and a solid daily soundtrack are two things that help Joe Taggart balance his mostly left-brained career. As President & Chief Financial Officer of McKibbon Hotel Group, Joe oversees all McKibbon entities and their finances as well as the McKibbon Family Investment Fund. This includes accounting, cash management, insurance, property and income tax, partnership-owned finance, and audits. Before joining McKibbon, Joe was Vice President of commercial real estate lending at Colonial Bank from 2001-2017, then Senior Vice President and CRE manager at USAmeriBank. His last role before becoming McKibbon’s Money Man was SVP, Florida SRE Manager at Valley Bank in Tampa. When Joe’s not crunching numbers, he’s likely outdoors with his wife and kids or reading a good WWII book. In keeping with the McKibbon Hospitality spirit of giving back and doing good, Joe serves on the boards of the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation and the Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County – two causes he’s extremely passionate about.
